More than 500 patients treated at Balasore Alloys Free Medical Camp..
Balasore, 10 August 2013: Living up to its motto, ‘People First’, Balasore Alloys Ltd (BAL) once again organized a mega free medical check up camp in Remuna Refugee Colony UP ME School in Balgopalpur village of Balasore district. Doctors at the camp treated a total of -562 patients, who received attention from a special team of gynaecologists. In 2013, BAL has organized three free camps related to health segment for various stakeholders till date.

Balasore Alloys was incorporated in the year 1984 at Balasore, Odisha and at present it has two plants with six submerged electric arc furnace (75MVA/145K MT capacity) per annum, planned to increase to 160,000 MTPA.

Ferrochrome (FeCr) is an alloy of chromium and iron containing between 50% and 70% chromium. The Producer od stainless steel & tool steel are the largest consumer of ferrochrome and charge chrome.It is chromium that confers upon stainless steel its remarkable corrosion resistance.
Out of the total world chrome ore output about 95% is used to produce ferrochrome for the metallurgical industry, with 2% used in chemical industry and the balance 3% in the refractory and foundry industry. Later majority of which is used in Cast Iron, Alloy Steels & Stainless Steel.
